This is an interesting video.  It presents a number of Van Gogh paintings that appear very true to the actual paintings.  But it somehow manages to incorporate animation effects that bring the painting to life . . . but without corrupting the overall look and feel of the painting itself.  It’s interesting.

Aside from the novelty of animating existing paintings, the future of (some) artwork will be towards the type of things the digital age has made common.  For example, creating for and presenting artwork on flat screen panels allows for artwork that is always illuminated. And it allows for the use of light in ways that a painting cannot.  And, it also allows for animation in all kinds of artful ways.  You can get a feel for these possibilities when viewing this video.
